The Moonshadow Inn is a great find! The owner is friendly, helpful, and a really great guy. He is very knowledgeable about the area and its history. The Inn is beautiful, as is the bar restaurant. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, charming, and far more than I expected. The rates are reasonable and better than others in the area. We're looking forward to coming back.

9/2022 We enjoyed our stay as the Moonshadow provided an alternative lodging option to the a ridiculously overpriced Inn that was in town but yet is close to Hawely. In fact there are plenty of little shops to stop at for antiques and stuff along the way to Hawley. I liked the overall style of the property. There is a huge bar on the first floor. Old world feel. I liked the general Victorian style and layout. Owners were very nice. Our room was #2. Up the very long staircase to the right. I don't believe there is an elevator. Our room was nice but small. Queen bed was comfortable. Wood floors with period style area rug. Ornate wall paper and artwork. No closet or closed space to hang clothes dresser with plenty of drawers was available as well as an oversized freestanding coat rack. Had a window AC unit and the bathroom was split into two spaces. The toilet and sink are separated in another room from the shower. I liked that separation but the shower and space is very small. I am not complaining with these descriptions, rather, just informing. This is old house and one should not expect accomodations like a new hotel at all. I would stay here again. We did not get a chance to dine here or drink here but would like to have the chance in the future. Best of luck to the newer owners!!

This is a hidden gem. We spent one night on our way home and it was a great experience. Moonshadow Inn is a 200 year old Inn formerly called The Beach Lake Hotel. The owner is an antique collector who has restored the building and furnished it with his collection of furniture and art. Even the room key that he handed me is the original key from 200 years ago. We had a beautiful room with a very comfortable bed, the bathroom was small but clean and all that we needed. Do yourself a favor and get there in time to have a drink and dinner in the restaurant. You'll hopefully get a chance to talk to the owner and maybe a few locals. If I'm ever back in the area I will definitely return.

My wife and I stumbled upon this awesome place when we saw the banner in front. Phil was an amazing host, bartender and chef. We stayed 1 night and cant wait to go back. It was an experience we cant quite explain. Maybe all the history from days gone bye. Would give it 6 stars if I could. You just have to go to feel the energy. And the antiques.... Beautifully appointed

Haven’t stayed at the Inn yet, but we went to the bar downstairs after my cousin’s wedding. Beautiful decor; you can tell that a lot of work went into creating a welcoming and fun space. The owner was very accommodating of our group, and the bartender Kim was a rockstar. I’d give it a 6/5 stars if I could. Amazing time.

Phil has turned this historic location into an amazing place to stay. The rooms are cozy and full of little bits of history and paintings. The cool factor was the 200+ year old skeleton keys. My family will definitely be back again to explore more of the Inn. 19/10 Recommend
